This project represents a very precise, time and labour-intensive example of the intricate parquetry construction Platinum Flooring Solutions is recognised for. Custom European oak solid parquetry was used to create this unique floor and statement piece in the prayer room of a new home. The design includes a seven-sided border made up of 70 pieces of individually cut strip flooring. In the centre, facing true North, is the Flower of Life symbol which represents the cycle of life. The motif is made up of 169 individually cut pieces that were then wire-brushed, micro-bevelled, individually hand stained and assembled.

Hurford’s solid Roasted Peat

Solid custom finished Roasted Peat new installation.

The client’s vision was for a visually floating staircase. This was achieved by installing the solid Roasted Peat stairs with brushed aluminum strips on the base of each riser to create the impression of floating stairs. The job was very intricate and took 120 man hours from installation to finishing. The challenges of the project included the installation of the structural steel frame to house the glass balustrade, mitering and routering out the housing of the glass balustrade and to perfectly recess and align the brushed aluminum strip under each riser.

This project represents a very precise, time and labour intensive example of the intricate solid staircase installation, sanding and finishing work Platinum Flooring Solutions is renowned for. This unique staircase is a true statement piece and architectural feature of the home.
